As we approach the end of term we look to the long holiday over Easter. With restrictions easing slightly to the rule of 6 for outdoors and further restrictions hopefully being eased on the 12th April everyone will able to do more than we have over the past few months.
I wanted to share some activities that we have found as an Academy that you could do over the Easter break.
Reading and sharing stories
Reading with your child and to your child is very important. Please share books and use our Collins eBooks to be able to access a range of books shared by your child's class teacher. You can also access the Oxford Owl reading books for free.
PTA Easter Eggstravaganza
Join in with our PTA's amazing Easter activity pack. These are available on our PTA website. There is a range of wonderful activities to do with your children.
Go out for a Spring walk and look at all the daffodils that are now in full bloom. Look out for other spring flowers that you can find.
Can you create an Easter inspired piece of art work using natural resources found outside. Could you set this up for someone else to enjoy?
Plan a themed day. The key ingredients of a Themed Day are fancy dress, a themed lunch and some fun activities. Some nice ideas are:
- Pirate Day
- Fairy Day
- Frozen Day
- Dinosaur Day
- A Day at the Beach
- Mexican Day
- Fairytale Day
- Under the sea
Mini Garden Olympics
Create your own Olympics! Pick a country to represent, dress up in their colours, create you own competition numbers and start your competition.
You could try one of the events below:
- Garden Sprint
- Garden Distance Run
- Sack Race
- Triple Jump
- Long Jump
- Discus - use a frisbee
You could even create medals to hand out.
Family Fun Nights
Hold a talent show, organise a family disco, family film night or escape room fun - these are available virtually.
